RESCUE - RESTORE - PRESERVE




A street /horse drawn escape by H.Heathrman &Co. Parsons Green London S.W. circa 1899. Donated to FST by Historic Interiors Dublin. This Escape was used on an estate in North Co. Dublin


This wooden wheel stands 51/2 foot high.




A 4 man Shand Mason manual pump sold by Lamprey & Co. Dublin in the 1800's , was brought back to Ireland by members of The Fire Service Trust on Monday.14/11/11. It now forms part of a National Collection that has been built over the last 15yrs by Fire Service Trust.



Dennis F49 SS50 HP started out new 37 years ago with Durham & Darlington Fire Brigade , Purchased in 1984 by County Mayo Fire Brigade and ended it's service in Nov 2011 with Cavan County Fire Service.


The black & white photos are brigade shots when new with its sister RUP 530M F49 Simonitor (quite a longer appliance), alongside 4 D series HPT 779 – 782N, (the standard brigade pumping appliance from 1971




This handcart was built in the 1930's by Russell Bros. Portarlington for County Laoise Fire Brigade, it served the town of Ballinakill until the arrival of a new landrover in 1956, restored in 2011 by Stuart Thompson

This photo was taken many years ago, the Bedford J4 HCB ex Dungarvan is now awaiting restoration with the FST.



1962 Bedford J2 HCB new to Blessington Co. Wicklow.



1985 Bedford /Alexander served from new until 2010 at Ballinamore Fire Station Co. Leitrim.



1988 Dodge Ram / Hughes ET ex. Athlone Fire Service. Taken into preservation March 2010.

1987 GMC /Timoney ex Ballyconnell Co.Cavan. This appliance served all it's career at Ballyconnell.

Ford Angloco ex Moate Co. Westmeath preserved Bardon Family Mullingar. This was the last appliance to serve at Moate before the Fire Station was closed.



1985 Dodge Timoney ex Mountmellick. Co Laois



1953 Fordson Thames ex Laois County Fire Service, the appliance is near fully restored , This is its first time out on the preserved scene.This appliance was kindly donated to the Fire Service Trust in 2008 by Laois County Fire & Rescue Service.



Photo taken some years back at Belturbet Fire Station 84 CN 712 ( A753 DRM ) is now preserved by the Fire Service Trust
