Eddie Gentles
1945 - 2012

Eddie Gentles  brought the Irish Fire Scene International when he set up the Blues & Twos website in 2005. The website was an instant success and 18 months after it was set up Eddie made a decision to focus the Blues & Twos website on the operation and developement of the Irish Fire Services.  At this time he approached me to take on the preserved side of the Blues & Twos website, during the summer of 2006 Eddie travelled to Athy and oversaw the setting up of the Fire Service Trust website.

On Sunday May 13th, 2012, members of the Fire
Service  Trust gathered in Athy for their 10th Annual Pumpathon. At the event a

was  dedicated to the memory of the late Eddie Gentles. Members of Eddie's
family  including his wife Cora, sons Brian and Brendan along with Valerie and
Pamela  were present for the short dedication ceremony which concluded with the
Fire  Service Trust Pipe Band playing Amhran na bhFiann.
